Destinations / Alice Springs
May 01, 2014, 10:17:47 PM
We have three weeks from the first of July to go from Perth or Kojonup to Kalgoorlie, Alice Springs, Uluru, Coober Pedy and the nullabor.
Any suggestions which  direction we should go first?
I have booked into Alice Springs for the Camel Cup on July 12th.
Any particular sights we should definitely look at.
This is the first time we have been out here so any advise would be appreciated, especially camping spots.
We will be travelling by ourselves.
Cheers

I bought a complete roll off the sail material in Perth a few months ago for some major changes to our older tvan.  If you have trouble finding what you need let me know and I can hunt out the invoice.  Material comes in a variety of colours but I went for the burgundy so it does not so show the dust.

Tvan Tvan / Re: Algae in water tank

Hi

We have experienced the same problem and the water becomes undrinkable.
We farm so have only had rain water....and that was the problem.
Treated town water was the only way we fixed it.  Also had to change all the water hoses to get rid of the taste.
This happened with our caravan before we bought the Tvan so I imagine it is the same issue.

Thanks for the info.  I would be interested in designing one to fit on the tvan.  Just need the husband to have a good look at my plan.  If he could do all the welding and metal work I could do all the stitching as I have the machinery to do it.  Just have to see if it is viable.

Thankyou for telling me what a foxwing is.
It looks great.
Is it similar material to the tvan sail?
Can you post a picture what it looks like on your tvan please.

Thankyou so much for the information.
I do canvas work and could not find the sail material.
Now this gives me endless possibilities for our Tvan.

LED globes arrived and are fitted.  Second battery is now on TVAN and purchased a 120 solar panel this with the 50 on the TVAN roof hopefully will now run a fridge and a freezer.  Easter will be the try out time.  Thanks for the advice on the globes :)

Hi, Are you referring to the attachment to the roof of the Tvan? What does your attachment look like.  I have modified ours.  If it is described as the same as ours I can then explain what I did

We have basically done the same with ours.  We bought one of those silver tarps and cut it down to the width of the Tvan roof and I hemmed it on the industrial machine.  Put eyelets in the corner and ran ocky cord through with snap clips on the end.  We hook the snaps onto the latches on the roof when we are set up.  The tarp goes over all the canvas.  We have two poles up and stretch it out.  We roll up our canvas window and have a good breeze flow but have the advantage of privacy if required by the tarp and and extra shade area to sit under if needed.

Tvan Tvan / Re: What is your opinion drawers or tubs?
January 18, 2013, 12:33:31 AM
I suppose depending on the trip you could easily slide the drawers out and use tubs if required.  We will see how the drawer system works at easter.  If they do not suit it looks like I would have gained two more storage boxes for horse gear.  win, win for me
