T4 / Re: Things you would change.
November 07, 2023, 09:33:32 PM
Hi Rick,
thanks for the response to my original post.
I see you mention you have an east west bed in your Rhapsody, I thought they only came in North south?
Are you comfortable with the size of the ensuite. We currently have a Lifestyle R2 hybrid with a combo ensuite and we're wondering if the ensuite in the T4 was even smaller?

Best regards
Steve

T4 / Things you would change.
September 20, 2023, 02:22:25 PM
Hi everyone, long time since my last post when we owned a Tvan.
Interested in the T4, probably the Rhapsody.
Thought I'd ask on here if current or past owners would change any of the options or add options they didn't.
Also have there been any issues that appear to be common in the T4 rang?
My main concern is that the ensuite looks particularly cramped, what do users think?
Do any of you have the composting toilet and does that make the ensuite more cramped?

Cheers

Hi Jo and Gay

Our Tvan is definitely still up for sale but we are going overseas very soon so it will have to go into storage for a little while until we get back.

Thanks for the replies, will try the online store as first port of call.

I sent the email to TT service dept over a week ago.

FYI, when I received the new struts from TT the NM have increased from 550nm on the original struts to 600nm on the new struts.

Tvan Tvan / Re: Spare wheel frame
June 09, 2014, 02:22:35 PM
Mine only had 4 rivets installed by the factory holding the frame on and after a trip to the around Australia last year, 3 of them were no where to be seen.
Went an alternate route to securing the frame using 4 u brackets and home manufactured plates to bolt the frame on without any drilling or special equipment needed. IMO also a lot stronger than just about any other method of fixing.
U brackets go through the little cut outs at the corners of the tray already there.

Tvan Tvan / Re: MC2 Suspension overhaul - alignment
May 20, 2014, 01:13:24 PM
Something I discovered yesterday when doing the alignment, if you have the second tank installed you need to use the studs at the bottom as the tank gets in the way. This requires zip tying your straight edge measures to the studs if using anything bigger than a steel rule, I was using two arms from a folding clothes line that caravanners use and improvising calipers for measuring with the good old wire clothes hanger. takes a bit of fiddling but can be done as long as you are careful.

For the record after getting all measurments to 80mm for the bolts holding the axles and swinging arms, my toe in came in at -4mm, so within specs if you add the +/- 1mm allowed.

will now wait to see if there is any difference in tyre wear to previous.

So Craig are you saying if you adjust the cross arms and trailing arms to the 80mm tolerance there would only be slight adjustment required to the the trailing arm nuts to bring it up to spec via using the 2 flat 600mm steel rules placed on the hub stubs for confirmation?
If you PM me I can send you info I have to check out.

I was wondering if one of the forum members could help me out with some advice on the toe-in adjustment.
I have the email from Phil with the photos and instructions.
I understand all until the last section where it shows to use a rattle gun to adjust the toe-in, if you adjust one side so that the toe-in is the correct measurement aren't you running the risk of pulling the suspension to one side only?
I know I'm missing something obvious here but for the life of me can't figure out what.
