We now have a limited number of sets of Quick Set Up Awning Brackets available for Mark 2 and Mark 3 Tvans ... if you have previously requested a set, and are still after a set (your request may have been lost in our messages and / or emails, which we humbly apologise for), or if you are newly interested in a set, please drop us an email at wolfsden101@gmail.com.  Please provide details as to your Tvan model, and whether or not you have a front box on your Tvan.  If you want further information, please also email, and we will provide a telephone contact for you.  Thanks.

Tvan Tvan / Quick Set Up Awning Brackeets
November 05, 2017, 08:02:37 PM
For those of you who are after a set of Baron's Quick Set Up Awning Brackets for your Tvan, that allow you to use most of the common brands of awnings, we would just like to let you know that we are currently out of stock.  The guy who partner's with Baron to make them, welding, etc., is in the US till Christmas.  Our hope is that we should have more available early in the new year.  Sorry we can't be more specific, and sorry if you are waiting on them ... unfortunately, it is out of our control at the moment.  We will let you all know when we have stock available again.  Thanks for your patience, and Happy Tvanning.

Tvan Tvan / New Mattress for Tvan
November 24, 2014, 08:26:24 AM
Hi All !!

Just wanted to share ... our foam mattress in the Tvan was getting a bit sad (it is a 2005 model van, and I think it was the original mattress), and we decided we needed a new one.  Not wanting an inner spring, we hunted high and low, and everything we found was either crap, or way overpriced !!  Then my mum suggested Ikea (she has always had Ikea mattresses on her bed, and swears by them).  Anyway, we got the measurements we needed, and headed to Ikea.  They had two different varieties ... one lot for $179, which were ok, but not quite right, then another lot, with two densities ... medium/firm and firm ... for $249 ... we tried these, and bought the firm.  The width is perfect (standard queen size), the height is 12cm (2cm taller than the old foam one), but the length was around 10 cm too long ... we thought we'd take a chance.  Got it home, put it in the Tvan (butted it right up to the head end), it fit perfectly between the tie down rails (never used the rails, by the way, just as a way to centre the mattress, and tuck in the bedding !!), and only hung over the end a few centimetres ... no biggie (and those of you with the extended bed end wouldn't have a problem, I don't think !).  We just spent 2 weeks touring Tasmania, and I don't think we have ever slept better in our Tvan ... that mattress is superb (and it also has a 25 year warranty !!!).  So, if anyone is after a new mattress, don't forget to check out the Ikea ones ... we love ours !! (and no, I don't work for Ikea !!).

Howdy !!  Just wondering what everyone's up to for Easter ??  We are taking the Tvan to Eldee Station, up near Broken Hill.  Hey put on an Easter 4wd family event each year, and having seen it on Your 4x4 and 4WD Tv, thought it might be fun !!  Anyone else heading there ??  Whatever you do, hope your Easter is magical.  Have fun, stay safe :)

Hi There !!

Just wanting to put my feelers out there, and see if there is any interest in a get-together weekend, perhaps in the Vic High Country (Sheepyards Flat area, or somewhere), obviously when the weather gets warmer, for any and all fellow TVan owners.

What do you reckon ??

Please let me know what you think.

Also, if there is anyone out there who has, or is, already organising such a thing, where would we find the details.

Thanks,

Connie

Hi There !!  My name's Baron, and my wife (wolfgirlkitty) and I own a 2005 TVan.  We purchased it second hand a few years ago, and were lucky enough to find one with "the lot" !!  It came with, amongst other things, the full awning and annexe.  Don't know about you, but boy is that thing a pain in the rear to put up !!  So, I came up with a way to install a Quick Set Up Awning, using the awnings you can buy for the roof/sides of 4WDs.  This awning is installed on the side of the Tvan, with specially designed brackets, using anchor points / bolt holes already on the TVan ... no extra holes required !!  It is installed so that when you open up your TVan, it moves with the rear roof/door, and when the TVan roof is up, so is the awning (almost !!).  All you need to do is raise one pole (which is already installed on the TVan), and roll out the awning ... and there you go, you have an instant awning !!  It is simple to set up for lunch stops, it goes up (and down) in seconds.  We have testing it right through a four week trip through Central Australia, down the Old Ghan Rail Trail, and many other trips.  I wouldn't put anything onto the TVan if it wasn't worthy of being there.  Here are some photos, showing the awning in various positions.  If you would like to know more about this wonderful awning set up, please give me a call on 0425 710 512.
