It is very common practice to isolate the power from the start battery to the rear Anderson through the fitting of a solenoid triggered from an ignition feed. So when the car is running the solenoid (or heavy duty relay) is switched closed allowing power to feed through to your DCDC in the van and when the ignition is off, the solenoid is opened, isolating the start battery from the rear Anderson. Or have I misread your issue?   

I have found what I am looking for and joined the Tvan club with a 2019 MK5 with the options I was looking for. Now we just need to get out and use it. The info in this forum and on the Tvan owners Facebook site was very helpful in researching and finding what I wanted.

Thanks for the comment. Yes, it is proving difficult to find much in Victoria at this stage, but I am flexible as per post. If a MK4 with premium kitchen and diesel heater/hot water came up within my budget, I would jump at it. The other inclusions are nice to haves only. I have cash ready to go, not a tyre kicker, so that helps sometimes with people looking to upgrade.

I have found a few interstate plus 2 in Victoria only slightly outside of my budget. I would have bought one of the interstate ones if border restrictions didn't interfere. I haven't given up hope yet. 

Wanted to buy - Tvan MK4 or MK5 -Victoria (COVID restrictions are making it hard to buy interstate)

I am looking for a late model, well looked after MK4 or MK5, preferably a Murranji with a few inclusions.
- Must have diesel heater/hot water, premium kitchen.
- Desirable to have sliding windows, higher roof.

Genuine buyer with budget of $50k to $60k for the right van.

Is there anyone looking to sell/upgrade in the near future?

Maybe go for a drive over some speed humps or bumpy roads? Try some relatively hard breaking (safely).

 Thanks for letting me join, there is so much useful info here. I am looking to buy a good Mk4 or Mk5 preferably in Victoria. Is anyone selling or looking to sell in the next few months?
