Re the gas vents and dust/water entry to the Topaz....one possible way around the gas regs would be to alter the gas supply system so that it is not a permanent installation. The Topaz uses a permanent installation of flex hoses/pipe

This could be done by simply installing "quick connect/disconnect" fittings at/near the bottle(s). The gas supply is simply turned off and the hose disconnected in the already COMPLIANT GAS COMPARTMENT.

This would need to be done each time you need to use the gas, BUT, that would enable you to LEGALLY cover the vents while travelling etc. I also suspect that such a system could eliminate the need for inspections and compliance certificates etc.

The gas experts might like to comment..........

Cheers

Vents are there for both while travelling and in the van. I don't think a fixed appliance inside a van can be disconnectable, it was always a grey area with tvan

I take your point Craig, but, I just moved (up?) from a Kimberley Kamper Platinum and, in broad terms, that is the system they use for the KKP. The stove is fixed in the trailer, as was the water heater.

Kimberley did not appear to have any trouble with the relevant authorities and I thought it was a good, safe system.

Today I went nuts with sealant again and here are a few spots I did

I found I could see light in the step area but a quick bit of sealant

Then after taking to track I did the small gap tat water can possible get in

The other bit I found was here inside  so I sealed that

Yes that goes into the side compartment but what I also found was the rear lights cable come into the side rear compartment via a grommet but the grommet is too big so I sealed that too

Nothing major and all very easy to fix with the help from track

I reckon my Topaz is 1000% more dust free than my tow vehicle (2011 Pajero NT) If the Topaz leaked as much dust as the Pajero does, I would be extremely unhappy.  As it is I would like the door seals on the Pajero to be as good as the Topaz without the door vents covered.

The lockers and the rest of the interior (other than around the door of a Topaz and the previously mentioned seals) should be at least more dust free than the average tow vehicle. If they are not then something is wrong as your van appears to be.
