Tvan hatch struts

Found one of the struts leaking oil so emailed Track trailer re replacement, surprise surprise, no answer from TT.
Seems to be a continuing theme with them.
Anyways,, Aussie Struts supply the struts to TT but the struts do not have any part numbers on them, but do have info regarding the length, diameter and I think it is newton metres of pressure, I seem to recall this as being 500n on the strut.
Aussie Struts have a strut the right length and diameter but there N reading is 50-1200.
Does anybody know if this would be suitable as it obviously covers the force required by TT for the hatch to open and should I be replacing the struts as a pair, I am leaning towards replacing both at the same time.

The struts are $37 odd each from track.

When did you email them, as there are closed today, so I would hardly expect a reply today.

Aussie Struts can pressurise the struts to suit the desired pressure, hence the range listed.

I would go for something a bit higher like 550 if you have to get custom made ones, but I would persist with Track and get the correct pressure from them.

For what it is worth. I had both of mine failing to hold the hatch up during a Cape York trip.

Upon return, I took them to Struts Australia in 1/16 Fitzgerald rd Laverton Nth. Melb.
They "tweaked" them up a few Nm, and all for free. Hatch now stays up quite well indeed.

There service was definatley 100% customer focused, even though I was prepared to buy new off them. 30yrs myself, in a customer industry, and I cannot recommend them enough for their service.

I had both hatch struts re-gassed in my garage by Struts Regassed 4 U for $99.  I have used this guy before to do the bonnet and rear window on the Landcruiser and recommend him to those located in the Melbourne area.  The more you get done the cheaper it is.  (Al = 0427 929 468)

FYI, when I received the new struts from TT the NM have increased from 550nm on the original struts to 600nm on the new struts.

The early Tvans had 500Nm struts but over the years extra windows in the tent, tropical roof catch nets and more recently lined hatches have all added weight to the hatch so the pressures have had to increase to cope with the extra weight.
