The Tvan is a great bit of kit but even it can be improved, here are some of our updates. First pic shows the 'new' annexe via Wally with helpful ideas from Craig and Mal.W. Pardon the messy camp, we are packing up after several days at Myall River camp.

thank you for putting your tips here for others to follow,

We were happy to find the Tvan Sport came without the Track kitchen because we were sure nwe could come up with something that suited us better. After 18 months of thinking and testing we had an aluminium box and stainless panels made to our spec's by O'Briens at Windsor NSW. Pic's show how it works, also note the piece of chequerplate added to the drawbar, very simple but very useful.

Can't go camping without a fire and this allows us to not burn the grass while keeping up to 4 people warm. We tilt the top half of the 9kg gas bottle to allow good airflow to the fire and to reflect the heat out instead of up. This also allows the fire to be moved or turned if needed. Whole thing clips together and is carried upside down in a gas bottle carrier on the drawbar, our kids call it the sputnik.

We have a simple but effective solar setup with 180 watts on the vehicle and 60 watts on the Tvan all charging all batteries all the time. On the Tvan, because I already had the old style panel with 35mm aluminium frame I removed the frame and added rubber edging and attached it to the top of the Tvan with velcro (and 2 small clips to make sure it doesn't blow off). See this link to the campertrailer tech page for pic's:

Last pic's show the storage mod's to the Pajero which allow the fridge to be kept at low level, lots of storage in blue crates, room for the Baby Q above and access to the underfloor storage via removeable panels and a table  on the tailgate.

All we need now is better led lights in the Tvan tent section and a new high density piece of foam to replace the soggy bit under our viscous elastic topper and we will be finished, maybe.
