G'day All,

I know it's a long shot, but I'm after an innerspring mattress for the Mk2 Tvan.

Planning a 4 month trip for next year and I don't think the foam will cut the mustard.  Consider any/all, preferably in Vic, closish to Melbourne.

Cheers,

Mark

We went to a place in Knoxfield called MC mattresses & bought a pillowtop innerspring (not really high) for our mk2. We got them to cut off all four corners so it would sit better as we went a standard QS & we don't have the bed extension. They do custom orders as well both my parents & in laws have had custom sizes done for their caravans. The height hasn't  bothered us as we sleep head at hatch but do sometimes sleep head at drawbar end & have had no problems.

We have one that fits our Mk2 Tvan. It is 5" high and is quite firm. Initially we had it made for our roof topper the put it in the Tvan. SWMBO decided it was too firm for her but it was fine for me.
we are located in the Riverland S A which is the only downer.

Hi Mark. We have a Topaz pillow top innerspring mattress that we bought from TT to use in our Mk2. It is now in our new Mk4 however as the Mk4 takes a full length queen size mattress it is a bit short so we would be happy to sell it. The mattress has not had a lot of use and is in perfect condition. If you currently have a bed extension you would need to use the bed extension and it would need a 2" layer of foam underneath it.
The only thing you need to consider in changing from a foam to a pillow top mattress is that the pillow top is higher so you lose a little headroom. This was not a problem for us but we are not really tall. You are welcome to come and try it out (Tvan is in TT for service currently but should be back home shortly). We are located in Melbourne Eastern suburbs not far from TT
Please phone me if interested on 0412 374 901

Thanks everyone.

I have been through the forum and have a list of places where I would be able to purchase a new matress, but thought that if I could save a few $$ and help someone out who no longer requires theirs, then that would benefit us both.

Alpaca, thanks for the offer, but freight would be a killer, I imagine.... :o   If I haven't sorted something out by March when we head off (through S.A.) , I will be sure to call....

Wayne,

I have the bed extension and happy to pad it out as required.  Best I give you a call on your mobile and have a chat.

I have the day off tomorrow (Friday), so will call then.

Should be able to sort something out her on the forum... :D

Cheers,

Mark
