Stove issue

Hi all. I am hoping the collective knoledge base can give me a hint re the stove on our mk3 tvan. Recently it has started to make a loud clunk when in use. The flame often stutters when this happens and it makes the same noise when cooling. I originally suspected expansion and contraction of the top and as such didn't worry about it, but now with the flame flaring when it happens I suspect it's part of the auto cut off system.  What should I be looking for and should I be worried ?  Thanks in advance.

For anyone interested the solution to the problem was indeed the auto cut off system.  The burner is held by one screw and with vibration and a bit of heat warp to the stove it was not sitting down properly and this caused it to not heat the cutout sensor. As a temp fix I have packed the burner up with a small washer keeping the flame in contact with the sensor.

We had a flame stutter issue in ours and the solution was to purge the gas line and gas jet.  Remove the burner rings to get to the gas jet. Needed a phillips head screwdriver for this.  Remove the jet with a small ring spanner, being careful not to drop it.  Using compressed air, I purged the line from the hose fitting point through to the burner jet and also blew through the jet in reverse.  Refitted all components and stutter problems have disappeared.  More than likely some dust or moisture trapped in line or in the jet.
