Been thinking about a small tv for the Tvan so we can watch some of the good things on...like the cycling.

The antenna has got me a bit stumped. I will need a small one that is easy to store. Maybe behind the spare wheel (mk3 Tvan no box).

Anyone got suggestions?  (No Tv is not one of them)

Cheers

We have one of the PVC tubular types that fold up to a compact size.
They work well too.

It sits in the internal gutter of the hatch, out of the way

To use it I have the brackets mounted on the hatch so that the aerial is at the top when the hatch is up.
The opening for the cable to pass through is inside the rubber seal so that when the hatch is down it is sealed from dust etc.

I have one of the AntSig flying saucer shape ones with an Amplifier inside the antenna body.
Has worked fine for me, travels in the overhead storage and anchors to a Tent pole.
Picks up the new metropolitan TV Channels fine.
I have a Fitting on the outside (Drivers side) and the spike of the pole goes down and the base of the pole gets the Antenna.
Laptop becomes the TV, thanks to a Kaiser Bass TV stick.

The following link will take you to a source of ideas that have been well tested and recommended within the caravan industry.

We installed a thru wall internal external TV cable connector along with a 12 volt booster. Externally we have a Happy Wanderer T Bar Antenna that we attach to a telescopic pole attached to the draw bar with a standard TV antenna bracket. Whilst travelling the pole sits beside the bed and the T Bar Antenna sits in the front locker with the awning poles. Simple to set up and works a treat. When staying in a Caravan Park that provides TV sockets we just plug the coax cable into the thru wall connector.

Sorry I don't have any pics.

Thanks for all the replies. Have decided against a tv and will continue with radio, ebooks and conversation. May reconsider when Tour de France 2017 is on...

This is our setup for the antenna.....

Removable and stores (collapsed) beside the bed.  Goes up a fair bit higher than this too if required.  Antenna removed from top of pole for storage as well.

Hope that helps.
