GVM / GCM Upgrade

I had my Victorian registered Patrol GVM upgraded in WA as part of a motor change.
It was all engineered and a new plate fitted etc.
On return to Victoria had to have it re- engineered for both the motor and
GVM and a new plate fitted. Then off to Vic Roads for the Rego update.
All good now and as legal as it can be and am assured can be legally driven anywhere
at GVM.

Your understanding is correct.
I've just had my Patrol's GVM upgraded, and that was the case.

The understanding on transfer of registration is correct, in reality it wouldn't be a problem for me as Lovell kits are approved in all States.  But what I was also highlighting is that despite having a GVM upgrade approved under NSW registration post initial registration, I could still be defected in another State.  I Looked into this ad nauseum, so confident of my findings.  In practice, it has never happened and I suspect it is unlikely to.
