Draws under bed

Another vote for the Drifta drawers. The ones in mine come all the way out so I can take them inside to pack/unpack. Also have a table that slides in above the drawers which is big enough to seat four people around.  The whole lot works a treat.

I made our own drawers with 10mm plywood. Corners riveted through aluminium angles.
3 coats of varnish, polished between coats, and they slide very easily on the carpet.
The drawers are 1/3 and 2/3 the width left after allowing for the collapsible table down one side.
They haven't moved on the tracks, and help support the bed. Can't use them when one person is on the bed, but STIs stops any sag problems.
Huge amount of accessable storage with no need to shuffle boxes etc to find what you want.
Can't remember the cost, but very little when compared to commercial setups.

We used plastic boxes for ages -  they ended up breaking. I was sick of the box I wanted was always at the back. Ponded what to do for months took the plunge in to draws from Drifter.... LOVE them so easy to use. Wish I hadn't waited so long.

Drifta drawers for us too. We have a set of 3 in the Tvan. In the car we have 2 drawers and a slide-out table. Easy to fit and look/work great.

Ok, now that you've opened the door so to speak, I have a question.

SWMBO also stores our snoters, knickers and sox loose in the upper nets, but, after a days drive over Simpson dunes, on corrugated roads or the like, said items all move forward with most falling off the front onto the bed.

So, has anyone come up with a simple solution as I'm thinking another anchor point or two pop riveted to the roof maybe in order.

Just put your "smalls" in draw string bags. they'll stay there.

I have used polystyrene packing crates for transporting salmon.  They have a tight lid and fit snugly under the bed.  No fish odour as contents are packed in plastic.  I got them from the local super market for free.

We also have the Drifter Draws. We had ours made to take a table on the left as you look in the back of the van. The table can be pulled half way out to provide a bedside table if you like. The other side takes our 120 amp solar panel. Really happy with the way it all works

Hi where do you buy the plastic boxes are they just standard Bunnings or are they an exact fit

When I bought mine a few years back, I got them from Woollies.  My last lot were from OfficeWorks, as I couldn't find any at Woollies..
