Hi Coogs,

Did you do the mods your self?
How did you fit solar panel to back door

Cheers Mal234

Coogs

The mods & options not fittted by Track were fitted by myself.
With regard to the solar panel fitted to the hatch it is adhered to an alum. box section using weather-proof industrial strength 'hook & eye' tape.
The alum box section is in turn adhered to the hatch surface using Selleys latest 'tough' sealant. The top and bottom edges of the solar panel are supported in alum sail track.
There is a specific ventilation gap between the panel and the hatch. Adhered surfaces were prepared with acetone.

Specifically used Selleys latest 'tough' sealant in lieu of Sikaflex. The Selleys sealant is less difficult to remove using a sharp blade. Sikaflex requires a drill with wire brush and then residue will still remain.
Electrically, over-sized cabling terminated with anderson plug that drapes neatly down the RHS lip and plugs directly into the Tvans' anderson socket below 240v input plug.

Hope that helps ........ Rod :) :)

Hi Coogs,

Do you hot water system or heater?

Cheers Mal234

Coogs

Hi Mal,
We do not have a heater, HWS nor AC.
Those type of options do not fit to our style of camping. We prefer to keep close-as to a 'proper' outdoor camping experience.
For hot water we use the cooker and our portable fire pit (Snowpeak from Drifta). For quick cuppa's we use a Jetboil cartridge stove that brings two cups to a rolling boil in 90 seconds even exposed to the wind. Wouldn't travel without it! :D
With the two standard gas bottles we have never run out which includes some lengthy camps in isolated locations.

In relation to heating- we carry 2 single bed doonas and blankets. Hardly ever need the blankets. You will note there are millium curtains fitted across the top of the rear gusset.
On colder desert nights they are drawn to form a barrier between the sleeping and tent areas. We find this very effective  :D
In regard to cooling there has never been a problem. On the hottest of nights we open both skylights, turn on the fan, open both sliding windows and tent windows as required including the lower ventilation window.

Regards .... Rod.
