Hi,
wondering about the difference between the innerspring and the pocket spring mattress.

If you are asking about the mattresses that TT sell, there is a significant difference. The standard innerspring is comfortable, has a pillow top (which makes it tall), and is heavier and more inflexible than the pocket spring.

The pocket spring is also comfortable, lighter and more flexible (which makes a big difference when making the bed). Standard innerspring is blue and the pocket spring is cream in colour. Pocket spring is also more expensive

We were lucky and purchased a spec'd up Scout that included the pocket spring mattress; it is better than our home mattress.

Thanks all. We currently have the inner spring and love it but are updating our Tvan and were looking at the pocket spring.
William, it it lighter and easier as in more flexible to make?

With the mattress, if you get a custom made one, you can get it tailor made for your needs.
Some making mattresses for campers offer a reduced height mattress.  Especially for Earlier Tvans till Mk2.
It's worth making inquiries.  If you need a good nights sleep, you'll need a good reliable bed.
The earlier Tvans had a non standard mattress size.
Wide as a Queen as long as a double maybe, definitely shorter than a Queen though.
Where the Mk3 onward all take a standard size Queen Mattress.

The previous owner of our van fitted it with a good quality memory foam mattress which we both find very comfortable and warm. It's also no thicker than a standard foam mattress so we don't loose any head room.

Howdy,

We purchased a box spring matress from bedsdirect.com.au - it's the Plush Re Creation model, 120 mm deep. It's great - easily the best upgrade we have done so far.

We love our Hydro Flex 200 premium foam mattress. Very comfortable and much lighter than any inner spring so it reduces total van weight and is easier to make up.
