T Van Covers - Murranji 4 with front box
« on: January 03, 2019, 05:04:52 PM »
Hi Everyone,
Although this topic has been raised before it was some time ago. I have a Mk 4 with front box which is now stored outside. I am looking for a weather proof breathable cover to protect the van from the elements. Has anyone come across a good tried and proven solution?

Hi Les
I have a Murranji Mk3 with front box.  I purchased the cover for this from Track when I purchased the unit back in 2012.  The cover from them is expensive, however I have found it to be very durable and very easy to put on. Not a difficult one man, or woman, operation. I am sure there are other covers that might suit but the one from Track fits like a glove.  Recommended

Hi Robert. Thanks for your reply. The one from Track is the green non breathable. Is your van outside and do you get condensation.
Looking at that one or a tailor made.

I have one of those green ones from TT. Mine is outside all the time. I have no problems with condensation. A lot of breeze gets up under it. Much like any other cover, I've had to put towels over some of the sharp points of the Tvan so that the bit of flapping that does happen doesn't cause the cover to wear.

Hi Les
My Tvan is outside all of the time in a semi-protected area.  Up until now I have not had an issue with condensation.  I never put the cover on until the Tvan is washed and dry.  I also use good quality car polish on the fibreglass.  As mentioned by Howezit some of the sharper points on the Tvan do require protection so as to not put holes in the cover.  In particular the top corners of the front box.  I solved this by purchasing some soft rubber stick on corners from Bunnings.  Seems to have been successful.  As I said previously I have been very pleased with the quality of the cover and its effectiveness.

I also have the green TT cover. Fits like a glove and no condensation issues as air seems to circulate. To protect against internal moisture I put DampRid in the Tvan for long term storage. Available from any supermarket.
