Hi All,

Happy new year to everyone.

I have been looking at current consumption while van is idle.

One big contributor is the gas detector. At 13.2v Lithium settles voltage, this unit draws 0.105ma, this equates to (0.105x24hrs)x30 days= 75.6 amps, or approx 37% energy used from a 200a/h battery bank. Add to that natural battery discharge, that little sucker does some serious battery cycle damage over 12 months.

This device appears to be the divide that consumed the highest continuous static current in the Scout. I assume state regulation requires it to be on 24/7 for final inspection and certification.

If there is anyone in the know, question without notice, can this be isolated while the van is not in use?

Savannah Scout.
