Went to Outback HQ tonight to check out the new T4. Nice looking unit with some gadgetry like electrically operated pop up roof and awning, operated from inside or via an app on your phone. A bit more space than the Topaz with a table tucked away under the bed, good size drawers and a small porta loo in the bottom drawer for night time visits. It stays in the draw for operational purposes but you wouldn't want to open the wrong drawer in the middle of the night.  ::)

Same type of ensuite pod on the rear and the outdoor kitchen is the Tvan premium design. The optional internal ensuite is just inside the entry door and the van is modular in that you can add more drawers, a wardrobe etc depending on needs. Nicely finished of course and very smart looking.

It runs up to 4 batteries with a choice of AGM, Lithium or Lead Crystal, an inverter up to 2000W, up to 260L ow water inc a 40L grey water tank. Normal config would be 2x75L plus grey. Front storage box takes a generator and the outdoor fridge is 40L. Internal is 130L

There's an option for the east/west or north/south bed, same as the Topaz. With the E/W you can have seating for 6. If it's N/S it goes down to 4. Add an extra set of drawers and you can sit 3.

one more, sorry about the focus but it was tight in there and the phone isn't good at close in shots. The small ring on the table is what you raise it with after sliding it out from under the bed. Very easy to do.

Also went to the sneak peak night at Track.

These T4's are beautiful looking vans.

The ensuite inside has a solid slide up section to take the height toward the top of the pop-top section, much better than other pop-tops which just have a curtain arrangement. So the shower rose can be attached higher too. The lift up 'shower pod' is still at the back of the T4 version which has the ensuite inside, but instead of a shower you will be able to have a family room attached which will extend beyond the pod roof (so a good size)...or you could have a 'no fly' gazebo type attachment with a sewn in floor, mesh windows and non-mesh roof which will extend to the width of the awning. Great idea.

The outdoor fridge is a drawer style so not tall but still 40L.

And the way they have designed the T4's makes them (we were told) not much longer than the Topaz.

Depends on options but $118k to $123k for their first realease. You can add more to that too.

.....and...we were told last night that its ATM is 2500 kg so the Prado should be legally able to tow it.....Tare weight is around 1800 kg so you have a bit of load to play with although once water, gas bottles etc are added this reduces your capacity but not much different from most other vans I suppose. They are a great looking van with lots of improvements and new features.

For that money surely you would consider a kedron also

It's certainly getting up there but so is the Tvan when compared to other campers. This one will compete price wise with the likes of the Kimberley Karavan, if it gets going again as planned.
