Canvas Shrinkage

Hi everyone. Quick question. First trip away and heading to the cape. Got rained on for two nights and our canvas seems to have shrunk. Van is 10 years old (we bought it second hand) so my question is now that we have struggled to get it all set up can anyone tell us if this has happened to them and will it stretch back into shape. Has taken a bit of the excitement away from the trip.
