Canvas separating from Tvan hard top
« on: December 02, 2019, 08:19:38 PM »
Hi all,

I have a 2006 Tvan MkII and the Canvas has come away from the hard top roof (see attached image - not my Tvan but shows the area where it the canvas has come away)

Do we know how this is normally attached?  Is it glued?

I'm in Brisbane - any recommendations on who/where to get it repaired?

Thanks!

Hi Grizzly,

The canvas is folded over the fibreglass lip and held on with "edge panel fasteners D type" or "edge panel clips D type". No glue. See attached post:

As above, but then the clips are hidden under pinchweld which needs to be removed to access the clips. Usually the clips stay attached to the canvas & if you can’t get new ones quick enough, you can gently squeeze them with a pair of pliers & reinstall them until you can get replacements.

Gday,
The last time this topic came up I remember the actual clips were hard to come by. I had to have some work done to my canvas and broke/lost some of the clips and substitued Panel spring c clips. The type you put into a hole and screw through. I just used a punch to flatten the screw eye and they work fine. And are available at places like Supercharged.

I ordered a load of those clips off Track Trailer some time ago, they weren't that expensive. Posted out to me, job done.
