Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone here could help me out. We bought our Tvan in 2005 (Canning), and still loving it to take it out. However the water gauges it came with were not the best out there (i know technology was not as far as it it at the moment, but to solder a non rechargeable battery in the system isn't a great option). Obviously i want to replace this, so i was wondering if anyone could advise me on what water gauges are out there, which i could fit to the existing connection to the water tanks ?

Any hint would be of assistance, thanks in advance,

Gday Ton,
We have a 2005 and our batteries clip in as per normal batteries - never heard of them being soldered. The gauge was in a weird spot behind the LHS steel storage pocket so I moved it onto the steel surround facing into the tent. Ours has two gauges for front and rear tanks and works ok - the sender units in the tank are more of a problem than the gauge. The gauge was pop riveted together and I replaced those with tek screws to access the batteries and did a bit of fettling on the tin cover. Maybe doing some work so the battery holder is  clip in might solve your problem.
Cheers

Hey Jim,

As you responded to me on this (Track trailer never bothered to respond to my email), i thought it was fair to update you on what i have done. As the batteries are 12V batteries, i contacted the manufacturer, to inquire if i could hardwire the gauges into the existing 12 V setup. They confirmed that this wasn't a problem at all, which is what i have done, I also relocated the gauges, to a more visible location, it all works great.

Cheers,

Ton.
