Insulated Bedhead leak

Just back from a few days camping up near Mt Seaview in very wet weather, and found a slow drip from the area of the front water tank filler rivets into the interior and then down to the plywood bed base.
The brown carpet seems to be very well glued to the bulkhead, but will have to be peeled back far enough to get to the rivets etc. I'll probably replace them with 4mm stainless steel screws and nylocks which I've used in a few other places where the rivets were deteriorating. I'll put some insulation in as well to cover them once done.

What's the best way to remove the brown carpet from the bulkhead, and is the white carpet material available anywhere?

Steve,
we have a 2009 mk2 wich had leaks at the bedhead from the row of rivets across the middle which were leaking because they weren't sealed type eg:

I replaced the rivets and added silastic under each one as it was popped and now no leaks.

I pulled the carpet off carefully and pushed it back when finished. I don't know what white carpet is that you refer to.

Thanks Ray, the rivets for the bed base all seem to be ok, I found the leak is coming from the rivets for the front water tank filler, as the water seems to be coming down from that area. Our Mark 2 has white carpet on the inside of the roof as an insulation layer. The bedhead has brown carpet type material as insulation.

Ideally I'd like to replace the brown carpet with something similar to the white roof insulation, and also cover the rivets/screw ends inside the TVan where condensation forms in cold weather to eliminate any drips and heat loss.

I'd also like to insulate the hatch roof if possible to stop condensation there as well...but that's a bigger job.

If you swap your water filler attachment rivets for sealed ones you should be right.
Let us know if you find a light coloured carpet for the bedhead, I hate our yellowish one.

The ceiling material is available from Whitworths Marine I think.

Track also sell the ceiling material which I've used to line the hatch. I found it quite easy doing it in 2 halves with a join down the middle. It looks fine and stops the condensation which can be quite bad at times.

Whitworths marine have the head liner.
Look for hullliner from most good boating supplies.
