Hi, I was wondering if anyone has taken their Topaz up to the Cape recently. I noticed a couple of posts back in 2017 but looking for more recent trips. We are looking at going all the way up, avoiding the OTT where we need to.

We did the Gibb 2021 without any dramas.

Peter we did Cape Yorke a few years ago... not with our Topaz, but the Topaz is built for that kind of adventure. It's too big and heavy for the OTT, but the Development Road etc shouldn't be any kind of problem. Corrugations, lumps and bumps are the main problem. Make sure your wheel bearings, suspension bushes and shocks are good before you go.

Thanks for info Andrew. We are going to avoid the OTT so should be good.

and just an update for anyone thinking about the trip. We did not take our Topaz to Cape, decided to rough it instead. In hindsight, it would have been all ok on the PDR right up to the tip.
