Hi guys, I have a Mark2 2006 Tvan, single tank. The kitchen pump is trying to suck water through but no water is making it to the pump.
I have cut the hose underneath and there is no water in the hose.
When i blew air into the hose back into the tank, the hose started to run with water while I had it in a low position.
As soon as I raised the hose up to join it back again, the hose drained all water back into the tank leaving the hose empty and the pump couldn't suck it back up.
What do I do?
Put some sort of non return valve in line?
Get a new pump? - Although the one I have appears to be working, but hard to tell.
Any and all suggestions would be greatful.

The pump you refer to is generally a "whale" inline pump and will not draw water, it needs a minor head of water to work. Fill your water tank to the top and see if it will work. If not lay the pump lower in the tank cavity to allow it to prime itself. Either that or the flimsy little impellor has come off the shaft and the pump would be considered unserviceable. You could test if the impellor has come off by lowering the pump outlet hose so water runs by gravity and then push the kitchen pump switch. if the water flows well the impellor would appear to be intact. The pumps are not marvelous and could easily be replaced with a small surflow or similar.

#1 Make sure the white "tap" part of the sink faucet is turned to the open position.
#2 If you have a whale pump at the rear tank, it is not self-priming.  To prime, you have to make sure there is plenty of water in the tank and work the rear plunger pump to prime the line. Then the front pump to the kitchen should work.
#3  The later Mark 2 had a self-priming pump mounted in the kitchen cavity, so shouldn't need this

I dont have one of those Whale inline pumps, just the regular run of the mill Shurflo pump that came with the Van years ago.
When I disconnected the water lines, the pump was sucking and blowing out although not very stongly. Not sure if that was the issue (Not strong enough).
I will put in a simple non return valve and see what happens.

Make sure that the hand pump works.    If the diaphragm has perished, when you try to use the electric pump on the kitchen, it will suck air through the hand pump.

If you have not fixed the pump yet, here are a few more suggestions. I also have a 2006 Canning.

It has a "swing arm" at the back of the kitchen to "transport" the fresh water hose and power when the kitchen slides in and out. Many years ago I replaced the hose as it was "kinked" effectively blocking it off.

Secondly, if you pump the hand pump, this should effectively prime the shurflo. However, if the ball valve in the "trojan" hand pump is not sealing this will let air into the system.

My shurflo never needs priming and works every time we occasionally use it, (we do use the hand pump ~90% of the time).

If all else fails, pull the shuflo out and check the impeller.
