G'day

In the process of adding a sliding tray/shelf to the small box side of a Mk 5. And have discovered that once the sliders are install there is pretty much no access to the rear mounting holes due the position of the access holes being mostly inaccessible, with the right hand probably needing the door to be removed.

I assume that there is a way to temporarily override the rear travel stops so that both the access hole and the mounting holes can extend past the framing? But the more I look at it the less I think that this is so.

See pic's below.

I've just removed my drawer and runners from my drivers side box.  It didn't work well with what we stored in there and the tray and runners weighed 13kg...  I too looked for a way to release the slides attached to the tray but could not figure it out.
The rear fastener on my tray was just accessible with a typical right angled allen key.  It was close to the door but there was just enough room.  The rear nutsert in my tray is 240mm (approx) from the back of the tray. Hope that makes sense, but it might not help...

Thanks for the reply, I have since discovered that there is no easy way that isn't potentially destructive. The answer from that is that the service guys remove the door rubber and the used a thin rachet with a short bit.

My tray is currently being modified to make it 40mm shorted as the full size tray that track have will not fit in it's current form.

When I get it back I hope my Kingchrome mini rachet will be up to the task for fitting the rear bolt, with the minimal amount of swearing needed.
