Some mods to consider.

Great post. I have done similar repairs and mods to my 2004 Tvan but have focused on simplifying and reducing weight rather than fitting in more stuff. Making the Tvan easier to use by adding some of the later model changes is a good goal too.

One question. You said -

•   Moved tent tie down mushrooms onto side of floor - for easier tent attachment

I need to do the same but the 2nd half of the rear deck has the 'C' section frame reversed to the front half so nowhere to mount the mushrooms on the side. I can either drill out all the flooring pop rivets and flip the 'C' section or cut some small inserts to mount the mushrooms too.

Was this an issue for you and what did you do?

Are those nobles lifting hooks legal? If so, which ones did you buy and how did you attach them to the chains?

Can't comment about legalities in other states but have been told in SA chains just need to fixed securely to the vehicle therefore the hooks adequately meet that objective.

Heifer boy, as for the mushrooms, you are correct I didn't locate all of them to the side, only moved the ones that were easy to locate. All of the mushrooms on the last stage of the deck remained in place except for those on the end of the frame.

Really like your stainless sleeve to go around the gas burner - drives us nuts trying to boil the billy in wind, even when we use one of those concertina folding screens to go around the front and side of the overall stove top.

We use a jetboil light weight hiking stove for that reason, especially when you have to mutter the SWIFT word associated with our stove. Best thing since sliced bread.

I take my Kelly Kettle everywhere. Best thing for boiling water I know of.
