600AH of batteries is a lot in a Tvan and you will either need a lot of solar or a large alternator in the car to be able to recharge it fully, so it might be overkill.
What are you running now off the 200AH that you have? Is it getting down below 10% when parked up? Lithium have more use-able power then other battery types.
You also have to think about recharging it, so based on most guides, 600AH of battery would recommend 1200 Watts of solar, so quite a lot of extra panels.

In the top left of the screen, where your user name is, in the drop down list there is a "Subscriptions" option. Select that and you can choice from the 2 options, $20 or $50 for 6 months.

Thanks for all the feed back, and support.
I am happy to keep running the forum, but will need contributions to cover the cost of it. Current costs are $42 a quarter for hosting and approx. $50 a year for domain name. Hosting is due again on the 1st of August, and domain name is at the end of the year.

I have reached out to Track for what they want to do, as last quarter they did pay the hosting cost, as they were still working on getting it moved to there servers, but not has happened on this in months now, so unlikely to happen.

I have added the option for subscriptions to the forum, but haven't tested it, but it uses Paypal, so should be fairly straight forward. There are 2 options, a $20 or $50 cost that is for 6 months, any funds received will be to support the forum.
So if anyone wants to support the forum let me know so I can make sure the payment is received.

Tracks IT are supposed to be working on moving the forum but I haven;t had any update from them on it. I have extended the hosting for a few more weeks to give them a chance, but if there is no updates then the forum will be closed in June, unless other arrangements can be made.

Yes it is getting close to 2 months. I didn't see any messages or emails from you.

At present Track trailers are working with there IT guys to get it transferred to their servers, but it is taking time, so I am waiting to see what happens in the next week or so.

Hi all,

This Forum has now been running for over 12 years, and in that time things have changed, and I no longer own a Tvan or any Track product, and haven't for a number of years, but have still managed the forum. But it is now time for me to step away and either hand the forum over to someone else or close it down.

The Web hosting and domain registration cost about $250 per year and I have never asked for anything form the members to cover this, but I am now no longer able to continue to cover it out of my pocket, especially as I no longer have a Tvan.

So if someone wants to step up and take over I am happy to hand it over otherwise the hosting will run out in just over 2 months time, at which point the forum will be shut down.

I think you will be struggling to fit it as there isn't a lot of spare room in the boxes.
Also if you read there warranty they are not covered for mounting on there side.

Here is some info that I have saved that was previously posted by members on the forum.


Having looked at the cost of Konis for the early Hiluxes & Cruisers (pt no. 82 2297 same as Tvan but Tvan also has SP1 following it) there is only a small difference in cost.

"The base part number for the Koni shocks (the shock that the Tvan ones are based on before they are re- valved specifically for Track) is the same as Hilux rear 79-83, BJ/FJ/HJ40 Landcruiser rear and 60 series (plus some 70 series) rear long travel shocks. Any shocks to suit these vehicles should get you out of trouble (although long travel ones are better if available) until you can get the correct replacement shocks but check the dimensions as a lot of aftermarket shocks are a bigger diameter and can rub on the upper shock mount."

The links is still working, make sure you are using the username and password in the correct case.

Not sure how much rubbish you produce, but I generally will burn food scraps in the campfire along with any paper, and only use cans for beer so they get crushed so take up less room. And generally unless you are really remote you will find somewhere to dump the rubbish every few days. Never really though about possums etc getting in there, but never experienced it either. I would suggest trying it until you find that there is an issue. If you really wanted it wouldn;t be to hard to be a metal lid made up that is hinged and has a over center latch on it to secure it.

Assuming you have a front box why not just put the rubbish in bags in the two small openings that are behind the stone guards, they already come with covers and have drain holes if anything leaks. Easy to add to and if you are doing a meal or something that will have a bit of rubbish just use a small bag to capture it and then add it to the larger bag when it is done.

Hi Robbo,

After reading this post and looking at some of your other posts I would suggest you tell us how your Tvan is fitted out electrically, ie. what it has like a BCDC or not etc, as this will help diagnose the problem.

But form your previous posts and this one I suspect you have a BCDC and that it may not be charging your battery, which means it doesn't know when the car is running, so check if you  have wired up the pin 2 in the trailer plug on the car to have poser when the ignition is on. As that is the most likely cause for your issue.
