Thanks @hulbyw. I'm not sure we tried that orientation as I didn't realise the holes in the plate were "square".

Quote from: Jamcan1.mc@gmail.com on April 13, 2023, 01:44:41 PMHas anyone had difficulty fitting the cover plate? The screw holes don't align- the awning switch and merit are too close

I can't work out how to make it fit - the only orientation in our Mk5 leaves the spout back from the edge so you can't get anything under it. All the other orientations result in the base of the pump hitting the electric pump.

Tvan Tvan / Re: 2006 Mk II Mattress size

Quote from: robstevens on March 01, 2025, 05:34:56 PMSo - you have less room than later models? We have a 2017 Firetail which fits a queen size mattress perfectly.
I've never owned a Mk2 but I believe the bed is shorter and you can add an extension in to make it normal length.

Tvan Tvan / Re: Inlet/outlet rear right

Ours is an outlet - designed for a shower connection.

The "other source" inlet is, from memory, underneath the hand pump section on the passenger side. From memory the "other source" inlet isn't rated for full mains pressure (might blow apart the plumbing) and if you put dodgy water in there it will go through all the pipes so make sure you flush it out properly later on.

I'd be interested in an update after you've done some dirt road driving. My experience is that the paint gets stripped off back to bare metal pretty quickly especially if it's a fine gravel/sand surface at high speed. Hopefully your painting experience is better than mine!

It wouldn't be hard to organise something to lock the hatch from the inside if you were at all handy. You could probably tie it shut with two pieces of rope.

Tvan Tvan / Re: Towing with an Amarok

Can't talk about towing but if you have LED tail lights make sure the Amarok recognises them properly - some people have to add resistor load banks so the lights draw enough power that the car can detect them. I used to hire out Tvans and I'm sure someone with an older Amarok had that problem.

Quote from: MYT150 on April 30, 2024, 09:05:02 PMTracks IT are supposed to be working on moving the forum but I haven;t had any update from them on it. I have extended the hosting for a few more weeks to give them a chance, but if there is no updates then the forum will be closed in June, unless other arrangements can be made.

If it comes to closing it please get in touch - I'm interested in helping keep it alive

Quote from: MYT150 on April 04, 2024, 05:43:49 PMAt present Track trailers are working with there IT guys to get it transferred to their servers, but it is taking time, so I am waiting to see what happens in the next week or so.

Great! Glad to hear it will be in safe hands. Thanks for running it for so long.

Hi Aidan,

I'm interestred in seeing it kept online, at least as a resource.

How much admin time does it take to keep it running? Do you spend much time dealing with spam?

Approx how much disk space is it using?

Towing / Re: Subaru forester

What's the max towball weight on the Forester these days? I'd be checking that vs the ball weight of the Tvan, especially if it has a front box with stuff in it.

It looks like with the ARB camper you have to pull out a gas bottle and put it on the ground to use the kitchen stove - that would get annoying pretty quickly. I hate the Mk5 gas connection (having to crawl under the Tvan - what were they thinking?) but the ARB idea looks even worse.

Tvan Tvan / Re: Track Quick Cover tight to repack

I totally agree with the cover appearing too small - I haven't worked out how to get it in easily yet.  It means we don't tend to get it out as often which is a shame.

Quote from: Belly on April 04, 2023, 03:58:51 PMDid you have to modify your drawer to accommodate the width of you 50 L Trailblaser please?

Width wise it was fine. It's tight but fits.

Mine was a bit shorter than normal - invoice says "50 standard checker trailblaza, 50mm underneath HME". Standard would be 75mm. With that thickness it just fits if you adjust the pantry and tray. If you got 50mm top & bottom that would make it another 25mm shorter so it might fit without any mods.
