Track Trailer Forum

Hi all,

This Forum has now been running for over 12 years, and in that time things have changed, and I no longer own a Tvan or any Track product, and haven't for a number of years, but have still managed the forum. But it is now time for me to step away and either hand the forum over to someone else or close it down.

The Web hosting and domain registration cost about $250 per year and I have never asked for anything form the members to cover this, but I am now no longer able to continue to cover it out of my pocket, especially as I no longer have a Tvan.

So if someone wants to step up and take over I am happy to hand it over otherwise the hosting will run out in just over 2 months time, at which point the forum will be shut down.

For sale June 2016 Tvan Mk4 Murranji.

The NSW Gov has declared some of the butane lunchbox type stoves unsafe.

Longer towbar or longer tow tongue - beware of the issues

Not all tow bar related, but still food for thought.

On a similar note, has anyone read the load placard for the tow bar fitted to their vehicle to ensure it meets the required rating for their trailer. For example some Hayman Reese 80 Series towbars are only rated for a ball load of 120kg which is less than the unloaded ball weight of most Tvans. Another example is a major 4x4 aftermarket manufacturers rear step bar for utes was only rated at 120kg as well.

Basically check your towing specs (including any deviations from the standard set up) to ensure you are safe and legal.

Hi,

As some members have not populated the optional location field, I have had to add a compulsory one that needs to be populated, so all members need to do this as there are a lot of peopel posting ads with no location details so it will make it easy for everyone to have an idea of your location if you populate this field with at least your state but preferably also your city or town.

To find the new field go to the top of the page and under "Profile" select "Account Settings" and scroll down and add the details, and while you are there make sure all other details are up to date.

It might also be useful while there to go to "Forum Profile" and add/update your signature with a name and vehicle and Track Product, including the model and year, as all this will help others to answer your questions, or know a little about you when you answer theirs.

Well one more sleep and I start heading north 

A three to four day drive to Cairns then 3 weeks in the cape. Will be good to be out on the road and enjoying the tvan for a while. So if anyone is up that way let me know. Or if you see a standard 105 series, with some mods and a tvan it could be me, if it has outback tracks on the sides.

I had it done over 4 years ago now and I still smile every time I drive it. It is not the cheapest, but it was cheaper then what you indicated the supercharged Diesel V8 from Bullet conversions is. There are a number of them done now, it is a fairly straight forward conversion as regards the engine and gearbox, it is the electricals that can be tricky, but there are people that do a full conversion wiring harness for it. Check out the LCool forum, lots of info there on it.

I now easily tow at the speed limit with the van on and just set the cruise control, makes long distance drives easy. It is only some of the real long slow hills that you notice it slowing by more then 10kph from the set speed.

Hi,

Aidan and Sarah and we have a Landcruiser 105 (live axle model) with a few mods including a factory turbo motor from a 79series, and also have a Tvan MK3 Canning.

Looking forward to sharing some of my mods and learning lots form everyone else, and I am sure being jealous of all of you off tripping around while I am at work.
