You would  be lucky to pick up anything good used (or unused) from that vintage so suggest you contract Track and see who was making annexes for them at that time.

If you have had a need to,  or have just been curious about taking out your Tvan battery(s)  (current model) you'd know that it is not the easiest task to perform – there is no cradle to lift out the battery and you certainly can't get your hands down the sides.  So that has left me wondering about the innovative ways some owners must have developed to make the task easier, of course apart from getting the batteries out and then placing a harness around it to lift it out at any time.  I am thinking Track could have made allowance for this in the manufacturing process?  The question then is: how do you get them out in the first place?

G'day (again) Graeme:   It is good to have you on board (at last) as Track's official representative to the Forum and for that many of us will be grateful, more particularly around being able to fill us in on developments and service issues since Craig's departure from Track. 
Having successfully worked through some Tvan issues with you earlier this year, I am confident that you will bring to the Forum a high degree of knowledge and competence that will greatly benefit Track and its many keen Tvan owners.  I am sure that as well, you will feed back to Track, the issues Forum members will raise from time to time, that have a potential to enhance Track's products and reputation as a builder of quality recreational vehicles.

Steve, I think you'll find this answered in several threads over recent months – just search under "jerry cans".  I think the Septure brand are very good (very solid and good funnel) but have a wider base which thus requires more area foot space.  I have found the ProQuip drums (water) fit satisfactorily in the side panels – if you store fuel drums in the area and have locker doors fitted, the drums may expand and burst open the doors – thus it is best to store only water in this location (if you have doors fitted).   Bunnings have the Septure at a good price (usually $10-15 dearer elsewhere) and Autobarn or Bursons have the ProQuip.

I have used the usual 'contact' cement (glue) for such purposes without problems - important to allow it to become sticky before bringing the two surfces together.

Interesting and popular location: the river contains some nice cod in the deeper holes and trout as well.  There have been numerous articles in recent times in various 4WD magazines.  The Turon, which eventually flows into the Macquarie River, is accessible from numerous points and offers great camping spots with lots of nice spots in the river for kids to swim.

G'day Bruce:  Because of the longer bed in the Tvan Murranji the porta-pottie won't fit in the back of the van.  Ours has been placed in the right hand side front box on the slide out tray. If you have a 'fridge box' set-up then the vacant side will hold the porta-pottie plus 3 x 20L jerries of water or fuel.  I place the (heavier) fuel on the inside of the slide and the porta-pottie on the outside (nearest the door) as this places the heavier weight towards the centre of the van and makes access easier for the porta-pottie. All is strapped in place with a suitable ratchet strap – we don't want an explosive cocktail of porta-pottie contents and diesel fuel.

A-frame is a bit breezy if you try to use it while moving.  Rough on the toilet paper too.

Thanks Bob - yes, there is a lot of good feeling about the Tvans.  You certainly hardly notice they are behind you and they do go anywhere.  We researched off and on for 3 years and then very thoroughly in the last 12 months.  In the end it was an easy decision to make and so far we don't regret it, a few little hicups aside.  Enjoy your June trip and don't forget to keep in contact with reports on the Forum.

Attended the Sydney Caravan and Camping Show on Monday – was disappointed with the display of Track gear from Alan Graham Caravans (Gosford), Track's Sydney region dealer.  They had only two vans there – a Tvan Canning and a Topaz.  Would have loved to have seen a Mate in the flesh!!!!  Obviously the big flashy stuff (palaces on wheels) is their meat and potatoes line.

That aside, there were several promoters of sat phones doing business.  The best deal seem to come from Campersat (new ISatPhone) (Inmarsat is the provider) with Prepaid $1/minute calls (lasts 2 years) – no monthly fees – GPS inbuilt – send and received TXT – receive emails free – includes: car charger, 240v charger, USB PC charger, wired for handsfree – cost with lower ($429.50) of the two govt subsidies is $528.50 including phone and $99 worth of calls.   It is noted that, unless pre-paid before 31 May, the validity of prepaid airtime is being reduced from 2 years to 180 days.

This is provided for the information of Forum members and of course I would welcome your feedback on this offer. 

As pointed out to me, there is a rush on connections to get in before the prepaid units validity is reduced and with the time being taken by the government to process applications for subsidies, the longer one leaves the decision to connect, the greater the risk that applications cannot be processed before 31 May.

Jeff and others:  I believe:
•   It to be important to retain the fuse built into the fridge plug (or some other type of fuse) so in any reconfiguration you need to keep this in mind; and
•   The adaptor cords mentioned are very handy (I have a mix of Merit and Cig sockets in my car and Tvan) but keep in mind if using them on a fridge, the cable is below the accepted load size for appliances with such a heavy demand – fine for lights and small battery chargers etc.

Phil G:  I want to make up a spare gas hose and regulator for the stove and need to get hold of a quick fit coupling (female) of the type Track use on their hose to attach to the stove (male) outlet.  Can you (or anybody else) please give me a brand name, size and part number – and maybe even a source just for the quick fit coupling?   Thanks.
