If you are camping in a place so dangerous, that you are afraid of being attacked/burgled/etc, then I'd suggest keeping on driving to somewhere more suitable?

My mk4 drawbar is 100x50mm - So 100mm vertically.

Sometimes the mechanism gets stuck if not lubricated - use some WD40 or RP7 and see if that helps...

How about mounting a big one on the rear hatch - permanently? You could fit a 250w panel there...

I've been tempted to build in a small catch cover, so that items inside cannot jam the catch shut... Will consider it again now!

Only other option is to get a pole and push at anything blocking the catch via the small "tent pole" space in front of the kitchen - it goes the whole way through to the other side... There might be something blocking the catch.

Yeah - my higher roof panel also measures: 1200 x  670

Tvans traditionally have fairly high ball weights, so you will almost certainly need airbags in the rear...

Can you see through from the kitchen side what is going on?

I thought it was a 120w panel on the Firetail?

Our 2017 model Firetail  definitely has 120w...

Looking at what is around these days, you'd probably find a 150w panel to suit the same size but that's about it.

I added an extra one of these in the fibreglass hatch above the tent door (wiring is already in place - super easy)
