Andrew, we have a 2009 mk2 and are very happy with it. It is amongst the lightest tvans made at 780 kg and its relatively simple systems are very reliable and suit us well. As we approach our mid seventies we are looking for what comes next but we haven't found it yet.

Absolutely , we have just come back from a month away in the tvan. Now we want to build in the diesel heater so its always ready to go and a few other changes. We have had it for 14 years and every trip triggers some new ideas, needless to say it is still a flexible, nimble way to camp and we can't find anything that would suit us better yet.

I check the forum everyday and respond where I can be helpful. I would love to see it continue and get some traffic. I would be happy to contribute to running costs but I don't know anything about managing it, in spite of an IT tech background.

Just pulled out an end wall, bottom is 2 metres wide,  our clear mat sticks out about 300mm

I'm not sure if your model has a direct connection to the Tvan batteries. More likely it has a DCDC charger which the Anderson feeds in to and that may not allow any input unless the car is also connected via the 7 pin plug. At least, that's how my 2017 Firetail works.

That's why I suggested checking the anderson plug voltage with solar off, to confirm the direct connection to battery.

to be sure that the wiring hasn't been changed check the voltage at the tvan anderson plug, should show battery voltage (switch off or remove fuse from tvan solar reg if possible while testing). Do the same with the car anderson plug with engine running to check power is being supplied ok there.

I would think it would be making hard work of it in hilly country. We used to have a Subaru Outback which struggled with our much lighter camper of the time on steep winding roads. We used a Jeep XJ when we first had a the Tvan and found that slow going and changed to a NT Pajero which has been an excellent match for the Tvan which weighs about 1000 kgs.

x2 for the composting toilet in a Tvan, ours is the Cuddy, worked very well on our recent 9 week trip to Broome and back.

the original post may have suggested the ute was sagging as well, in that case upgraded springs and or an airbag addition ( I think the Raptor has coil springs on the rear) would be important to level the ute then adjust hitch to suit Tvan

If you swap your water filler attachment rivets for sealed ones you should be right.
Let us know if you find a light coloured carpet for the bedhead, I hate our yellowish one.

The ceiling material is available from Whitworths Marine I think.

we have a 2009 mk2 wich had leaks at the bedhead from the row of rivets across the middle which were leaking because they weren't sealed type eg:

I replaced the rivets and added silastic under each one as it was popped and now no leaks.

I pulled the carpet off carefully and pushed it back when finished. I don't know what white carpet is that you refer to.

We found a little bit of rust forming on the metal hinges after 4 days of cool wetish weather. Hopefully the spray of fish oil will stop that. Apparently stainless hinges are becoming available 'soon'.

No, we had a look at a demo Cuddy at Castle Hill, NSW before being satisfied enough to buy one. The OGO appears to have a better stirring mechanism (electric not hand operated) otherwise very similar setups. The Cuddy being simpler suits us better, very little to go wrong in the bush.

The OGO certainly looks like a good unit, more expensive than our Cuddy composting toilet which we are quite happy with. see recent discussion here:
