The sender fitted to the tank relies on the water level to light the LEDs so if it's flickering then the water level is at about that point on the sender.  If you rock the van you will see the LED go off and indicating the tank is about 3/4 full.

And the battery falling out certainly happens to us, I have now soldered the battery in. One day I will connect the level meter directly to tvan 12 volt supply.

Seems to be minimal smell, certainly none when the lid is down. We expect to leave it closed when driving and vented outside (or put it outside in the ensuite) when camped. Theory is the smell is made worse by a combination of poo and pee. The urine collection bottle seems to contain the smell very well, only smells when being emptied. Now that we have it venting outside it is staying quite dry inside as well.

One thing that concerns me is the top lid flops back when the seat is raised to access the collection buckets. Only a matter of time till the plastic hinges break unless care is taken to hold the lid.

We have been using the Cuddy toilet for a week at home, so far working well, minimum smell issues. We are using coconut coir as the composting medium. We will take it on a road trip next week. We have found the lid wants to fall shut when toilet is in use, still working out the best way to keep it open without attaching anything that will void the warranty.

We are considering a composting toilet for the Tvan for remote trips. If anyone has one we would like to hear how it is working for you. We think the Cuddy is the best option so far.

heavier spring is on the bottom.

Bit of a pain to refit, I found a loop of cord hooked a little below the end of the spring forming a handle made it easier to re-attach.

We used to use the supercheap covers but now use a small caravan cover from RTM, about $160 couple of years ago. Good quality and waterproof so far. Need some extra straps to make the front fit without flapping in the wind.
Overall works well and good value.

FWIW, I was a little alarmed when I checked our Renogy battery in the Tvan the other day, it had switched off due to self consumption, radio and victron regulator running 24/7 and Tvan was parked under the carport without solar input. Battery voltage was 10 volts. I hooked up portable panels and it quickly switched on and started charging up at 5.8 amps, now after 2 days of weak sunshine  its up to 61%. So it looks like the BMS is doing its job well.

I have dipped my toe in lithium with the Renogy 100ah battery, so far working well, far quicker charge than the old gel battery and easy to monitor with the $40 bluetooth module, about $630 each, when the Pajero aux Optima dies (currently 7 yo) I will buy another Renogy.

much to my surprise they have gone to the house across the road for spares on a ute.

Proposed drawing looks good, someone on the forum has done something similar years ago.

We have 60 watts on the Tvan and 300watts on the Pajero with the fridge so both look after their own needs. We don't even plug the Tvan anderson plug in (especially when I let it drag on the ground and it gets wrecked).

3 Goodyear Wrangler AT/R 31x 10.5 x 15 on sunraysia 7" rims (6x 139.7 studs), rubber half tread depth and 12 years old but still been trundling happily around NSW. Probably best suited to good road use only or farm equipment.

Andrew, many on this forum have put semi flexible panels on the hatch to good effect, Renogy seem to have a good rep for panels, like these perhaps:

Wow, a very comprehensive response, thank you.

I have been checking studs and wheel nuts today so thanks for the spec's re the Pajero wheel nuts.

The Pajero has a 2 inch lift so I expect the steel wheels to clear the body ok,  the rear should certainly be ok.

I agree needing to put Pajero wheels on the Tvan is unlikley so will see how we go there. I do carry tyre levers, wooden blocks and soap so hopefully could change a tyre over if really desperate.

Thanks for your other comments, I will go ahead and order rims and tyres with a little more confidence.
