Hey there everyone...got a quick question...
Just checking on the function of the hose connection on the back right corner of our '24 Firetail Mk5.  Is it a second 'Other Source' inlet or an outlet from the rear tank (we only have rear tank). Want to replace the water in the tank and saw this and wondered if it was an outlet- when I open the tap water does come out- but not much.  No info in the manual about it.  And BTW...I've read all the info re emptying the tank- remove plate and hose etc....

Thanks... Dave

G'day...Me again
Just spent an hour (and about 30l of water) doing a bit of a test.  Think I'm right in saying it's another outlet- alternative to the shower on the RHS.  Pretty sure it's not another 'Other Source' inlet...well I couldn't get it to work if it is!! Inboard from the stopcock there's a 'T' junction- I'm thinking one side is supply from the pump but don't know what the other would be...?
Does that sound about right??

So does water come out when the pump is on? If so, definitely another outlet.  Other than that, no sure what it would be for?

Hey Rob...Yep. It sure acts like an outlet :-)  Only reason I'm being careful is that I was told by someone (who should actually know!!) that they use theirs for an 'OS' inlet...doesn't make sense to moi given my test!!  I will continue to use it as an outlet only.  I will also 'inform' said person re my findings on Monday!!

Ours is an outlet - designed for a shower connection.

The "other source" inlet is, from memory, underneath the hand pump section on the passenger side. From memory the "other source" inlet isn't rated for full mains pressure (might blow apart the plumbing) and if you put dodgy water in there it will go through all the pipes so make sure you flush it out properly later on.

Thanks Peter.  We have a separate shower point on the back right near the diesel filler- has hot and cold adjustment.  But makes sense to have another outlet that's just cold.  Yep got the 'Other Source' on the Left under the hand pump and have used it a few times.  I also flush it out after using anything slightly dodgy.  But only use it for things other than drinking.

Hey all...just to close this thread out...I can now (I think!!!) confirm that the OUTLET on the right rear under the back right corner is in fact an OUTLET!!  I am also reliably informed that this OUTLET is often used to drain the tank- instead of the whole unbolting and detaching process detailed in the manual.  It can also deliver 'Other source' water.

The outlet on the RHS at the back of the Tvan is an outlet for supplying water to a gas HWS. Technically it should be deleted if you have diesel HWS but the factory often left it there (suspect it is easier to make the plumbing universal rather than different for each van)
