Tvan tent zips

We are having trouble again with the zip on our commonly used side. It keeps separating on the screen and door. I have cleaned, lubricated and squeezed the sliders.

My question is, if a larger size zip was used would it hold better. I guess it may make a difference in waterproofing etc or am I wrong.

We use our Tvan for many months of the year and it's been about six years since they were replaced. That was at adp canvas in Kilsyth. Recommendations for a canvas in the northern suburbs would be great.

I wonder if there's a better option than using zips?  I really hate the noise they make at 2am when someone has to head off to relieve themselves!  Velcro would wear out quick, and still be noisy. What else could hold the canvas and mesh together? Just wondering...

I believe magnetic strips have been tried but not successfully
