I like the look of this awning setup by Baron. Has anyone attempted to fit some kind of insect screen to one of theses awnings? Is it possible? Any advise appreciated.

The awnings are standard awnings.. the type you'd put on your 4WD.
The likes of ARB (and others) make these insect screens for their awnings.. so that would work here as well.

I'm just after some feedback from those who have had awnings for a while. Any issues with wind at night or if you leave camp for a while ?

Our awning is 3.1 m long by 2.5m out, and wind hasn't been an issue yet. Everything is rigid enough, so you only need to so it lifting, and we just use two vertical tie downs on the two corners.( rope from the top, straight down to the bottom of the pole with either a peg or jerry can)

Rain on the other hand is more of an issue. It doesn't have the same angle as the tvan awning, and catches water due to the way the sides and roof poles work.  We prefer the full awning in the rain anyway, but if the quick awning is up, we drop one corner as far as it will go.

Make sure you peg it down really really well. You never know when the wind will come up and then it will blow "over" the Tvan, bending the brackets and perhaps breaking the awning.

Hi Baron is the bracket for Tvan mk 2 still available? I know this is an old post but we have mark 2 tvan without the box and would like to put awning on.
Let me know,
Thanks
Jan

Hi there, for those of you who have asked or are still interested - sadly, we don't make the brackets any more. We struggled with supply during covid and since then have just not resumed making them for various reasons. Apologies to all those that want them, but no, we don't do them any more. Baron & Connie

Hey Baron and Connie. I have just purchased a 1 owner 2012 Tvan Murranji. It has your awning on it and I am impressed. So were the three Tvan owners who over a trip to Victoria wanted to photograph it so that they could make something similar. I have only just seen that you are forum members.

Hi, thanks for the compliment. Baron had great fun designing the brackets - we have the prototype on our Tvan 2005 Mk2. He sold quite a few sets prior to covid, they were in great demand. Then Covid hit and he stopped producing them, for various reasons. Hope you have many happy years with your Tvan. Take care, Connie
