Just in the last couple of days I have been getting stuck into a small project.
How to get water from a Creek/River/Dam, to use for washing etc.
I started by consulting with Baron about his effort.
I purchased a pressure switched pump from a Caravan accessories outlet.
A Shurflo pump 12V 5.5Amp. with a lift capability of 1.5 to 2.0M and a head height of at least 6M., flow rate of 11.3Lpm.
A nylon/teflon cutting board 300Wx400Lx10mm.
Various hose fittings, an air release valve, an in-line irrigation filter (similar to the ones on the Tvan, only bigger) and a roll of 6mm wire (pair in a sheath).
4 door stoppers (for the feet), packet of small diam. bolts w/nuts, and a couple of the spring steel tool holder clips you screw down (to hold the filter).

Question: How much hose length would be needed/good to have, for the run from the pump to the trailer?
The answer 'However far you are from the water', is unacceptable.

Just have to get a box to keep it in now.

Robert, your setup is similar to the glind shower we had under our cruiser bonnet a while back. We had no worries pumping 10 metres from creeks. One thing to help is to ensure you have a foot valve at the end of your hose so that the water can't drain back into the creek. You probably already know this  anyway.  :)
We should have kept the Glind unit for the same purpose!

Thanks Chris,
Any help is gratefully accepted.
We still haven't had a coffee down the street yet.
